How to use the prediction help

Treat the calls as a starting point, not an order. Never copy blindly — otherwise half the group predicts identically and there's no edge. Use the read to sharpen your own, and deviate deliberately where you have a better take. The method behind it is in WC prediction strategy.

Group stage: calls

In the group stage, form rules. Rules of thumb for your predictions:

  • Top favourite vs underdog: usually 2–0 or 3–0 — but beware the third group game, when the favourite is already through.
  • Two evenly matched teams: 1–1 or 2–1 are the most likely results.
  • Two defensively strong teams: a tight 1–0 or 0–0 is often the smarter tendency.

Even match1–1, 2–1, 1–0
Defensive duel1–0, 0–0, 1–1
Must-win vs already-qualified2–1, 1–1 (mind rotation)

Knockout stage

From the round of 32 it gets tighter and more cautious. Tight results pile up, and draws after 90 minutes are common (extra time isn't scored in most rounds — see WC prediction game rules 2026). Prediction lean: 1–0, 2–1 and 1–1 over high scores.

Favourites & dark horses

  • Top favourites: the usual heavyweights — the holders and the big European and South American nations — sit at the top.
  • Dark horses: watch for teams with strong form and a good squad mix flying under the radar. Those underdogs deliver the group-stage surprises that let you gain ground in your round.

Should I just copy the prediction help 1–1?
